What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee cannot operate their Hydrodog business outside of their assigned territory or relocate without prior written approval from Hydrodog. Hydrodog will permit a franchisee to relocate their Hydrodog business if, in Hydrodog's business judgment, there is a change in the character of the franchisee's territory that is sufficiently detrimental to its business potential to warrant relocation to a new geographic area.

If Hydrodog approves a relocation, the franchisee must reopen their Hydrodog business within the new or modified territory as soon as practical, but no more than 30 days after approval is given. Hydrodog may agree to extend this period in writing if circumstances beyond the franchisee's reasonable control prevent them from reopening within 30 days.

This policy ensures that Hydrodog maintains control over its brand's presence and market strategy. The relocation clause protects franchisees from being stuck in territories that have become economically unviable, but it also gives Hydrodog the power to decide when a relocation is justified. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider the potential for changes in their territory and the conditions under which Hydrodog might approve a relocation.
