1.1 The HydroDog System. We, our affiliates and our predecessor have expended considerable time and effort developing retail businesses offering, on a mobile basis, pet grooming services (the "Products" and/or the "Services"), in a distinctive and innovative environment (each a "HydroDog Business"). HydroDog Businesses utilize our approved vehicles (the "HydroDog Vehicles") and operate in accordance with our standards and specifications (our "System Standards"). A key to the development, operation, franchising and success of the HydroDog Businesses is the use of our System. The "System" includes, but is not limited to, distinctive designs, layouts, color schemes and signs, equipment, inventory, marketing methods, service requirements, standards and specifications, products, inventory, and suppliers; rules; training and assistance; and other methods and procedures relating to the establishment and operation of a HydroDog Business.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Hydrodog System includes various methods and procedures relating to the establishment and operation of a Hydrodog Business. The Hydrodog System includes distinctive designs, layouts, color schemes and signs, equipment, inventory, marketing methods, service requirements, standards and specifications, products, inventory, and suppliers; rules; training and assistance; and other methods and procedures relating to the establishment and operation of a HydroDog Business.
The Hydrodog franchise agreement requires franchisees to adhere to System Standards described in the manuals, which may be modified or updated periodically. Franchisees are responsible for monitoring any online version of the manuals for changes. Hydrodog may also distribute updates and amendments to the Hydrodog System through newsletters or notices, including via Computer System or other media.
Hydrodog also maintains confidential information that includes methods, formats, specifications, standards, systems, procedures, sales and marketing techniques, knowledge and experience used in developing and operating your HydroDog Business (including, without limitation, the System Standards); market research and promotional, marketing and advertising programs for your HydroDog Business; client communication programs, along with data used or generated in connection with those programs; the System and the know-how related to its use; plans, specifications, size and physical characteristics of the HydroDog Businesses, HydroDog Vehicles; Territory selection criteria; design of equipment, furniture, forms, materials and supplies; training for the HydroDog Businesses; methods, techniques, formats, specifications, procedures, information and systems related to and knowledge of and experience in the development, operation and franchising of the HydroDog Businesses; knowledge of specifications for certain Products and Supplies and suppliers of certain Products and Supplies; pet grooming techniques, products and services; the Client Database and knowledge of operating results and financial performance of the HydroDog Businesses other than those operated by you (or your affiliates).
Hydrodog franchisees must also operate their HydroDog Business during the hours and on the days prescribed by Hydrodog in the Manuals or otherwise approved in advance in writing by Hydrodog. Franchisees must participate in any customer service program or customer retention program which Hydrodog may establish from time to time.
