Does the Hydrodog 'System' include distinctive layouts?

Hydrodog Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

1.1 The HydroDog System. We, our affiliates and our predecessor have expended considerable time and effort developing retail businesses offering, on a mobile basis, pet grooming services (the "Products" and/or the "Services"), in a distinctive and innovative environment (each a "HydroDog Business"). HydroDog Businesses utilize our approved vehicles (the "HydroDog Vehicles") and operate in accordance with our standards and specifications (our "System Standards"). A key to the development, operation, franchising and success of the HydroDog Businesses is the use of our System. The "System" includes, but is not limited to, distinctive designs, layouts, color schemes and signs, equipment, inventory, marketing methods, service requirements, standards and specifications, products, inventory, and suppliers; rules; training and assistance; and other methods and procedures relating to the establishment and operation of a HydroDog Business.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Hydrodog System does include distinctive layouts. The FDD specifies that the 'System' encompasses distinctive designs, layouts, and color schemes. This means that as a franchisee, you are required to adhere to Hydrodog's prescribed layouts and designs when setting up and operating your mobile pet grooming business.

The inclusion of distinctive layouts as part of the Hydrodog System ensures brand consistency across all franchise locations. This consistency helps customers easily recognize and associate the brand with a certain level of quality and service. Franchisees must implement these layouts in their mobile grooming vehicles to maintain uniformity.

Compliance with the System Standards, including the layouts, is essential for preserving the goodwill associated with the Hydrodog brand. Franchisees must adhere to these standards, which may be modified periodically, to maintain a consistent brand image and customer experience. Failure to comply with these standards can result in penalties, such as non-compliance fees, mandatory remedial training, or even termination of the franchise agreement.
