What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Hydrodog FDD, franchisees must operate their Hydrodog Business in compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, and regulations. This includes government regulations related to occupational hazards and health, construction warranties, worker's compensation insurance, immigration, unemployment insurance, construction permitting, and workplace safety. Franchisees are also responsible for withholding and paying federal and state income taxes, social security taxes, and sales taxes.

The FDD also states that Hydrodog may require owners and managers to attend periodic refresher training courses. Successful completion of Hydrodog Academy and any other required initial training is a condition for opening a Hydrodog Business to the public. Furthermore, System Standards may regulate employee qualifications and training.

In the event of the death or disability of a franchisee or the owner of a controlling interest, if the Hydrodog Business is not being managed by a trained manager, a personal representative must appoint a manager to operate the business within three months. This manager will also be required to complete training at the franchisee's expense. Hydrodog also retains the right to appoint a manager if the business is not being managed properly, with the expenses and fees for this manager being charged to the business's account.
