What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Hydrodog has the right to access all information collected by the franchisee's computer system at any time without prior notification. The franchisee must provide Hydrodog with password access to the computer system to facilitate data retrieval. There are no contractual limitations on Hydrodog's right to access or retrieve any information contained within the franchisee's computer system. This is detailed in Section 11.7 of the Franchise Agreement.
This means that Hydrodog franchisees should be aware that Hydrodog can monitor and access all data generated by their business's computer systems without informing them beforehand. This includes sales data, customer information, and any other data processed through the system. Franchisees need to provide the necessary access credentials to enable Hydrodog to obtain this data.
This level of access is not uncommon in franchising, as franchisors often need to monitor franchisee performance, ensure compliance with system standards, and gather data for marketing and operational improvements. However, the lack of a notification requirement is something a prospective franchisee should carefully consider. It is advisable to discuss with Hydrodog what specific types of data they intend to access and how they will use this information to ensure transparency and protect franchisee interests.
