What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Hydrodog reserves the right to establish an advisory council of franchisees. Currently, there are no franchisee advertising councils or advertising cooperatives that advise Hydrodog on advertising policies. However, Hydrodog retains the discretion to establish an advisory council of franchisees to advise them on advertising policies and other matters. This council is different from the Marketing Fund Advisory Committee, which Hydrodog also has the right, but not the obligation, to establish.
This means that while Hydrodog is not currently using a franchisee advisory council for advertising, they have the option to create one in the future. If established, this council would advise Hydrodog on advertising policies and other relevant issues. However, Hydrodog retains the ultimate decision-making authority on these matters.
For a prospective franchisee, this indicates that Hydrodog may seek franchisee input on advertising and other business matters through an advisory council. However, franchisees should be aware that Hydrodog is not obligated to follow the council's advice and retains full control over advertising policies and other operational decisions. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, where franchisors often seek franchisee input while maintaining control over brand standards and marketing strategies.
