- Before the Business opens, we will provide to you and any person owning at least 20% of you and that plans to work in the Business at least 50% of the time, our Owner/Manager Training, including online HydroLink training. (Franchise Agreement, Section 7.1).
You and your trainees must successfully complete the HydroDog Academy, as determined in our sole discretion, prior to opening your Business (as described in Section 7.3 of the Franchise Agreement). This includes successfully passing all required assessments designed to evaluate comprehension of training topics. Upon successful completion of the training program and passing of all assessments, you and your trainees will receive a certificate of completion, which may be required for operational approval of your Business. You also must participate in all other activities required to operate your HydroDog Business. You are responsible for all travel, living and compensation expenses which you and your trainees incur in connection with training.
We may require you and/or your previously trained owners to attend periodic refresher training courses at such times and locations that we designate. If we require you, and/or your previously trained owners to re-take or attend additional or extended initial training, it will be at your expense (Franchise Agreement- Section 7.3).
If we require (including if you or your staff do not meet our then-current performance or compliance standards) or you request, and we agree to provide, additional training or assistance, which may be conducted on-site (in your Territory), online, at our location, or at another location we designate, you must pay our then-current fee for additional training (the "Additional Training Fees") which will not exceed $500 per trainer per day of training, plus travel and living expenses for each trainer (the "Training Expenses"). What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Owner/Manager Training is required for the franchisee and any person owning at least 20% of the franchise who plans to work in the business at least 50% of the time. This training includes online HydroLink training.
Hydrodog also requires that franchisees and their trainees successfully complete the HydroDog Academy before opening their business. This includes passing all required assessments. Upon completion, a certificate is issued, which may be required for operational approval. Franchisees are responsible for all travel, living, and compensation expenses incurred during training by themselves and their trainees.
Hydrodog may also require previously trained owners to attend periodic refresher training courses. If additional training is required because the franchisee or their staff do not meet performance or compliance standards, or if the franchisee requests additional training, they must pay Hydrodog's then-current fee for additional training, which will not exceed $500 per trainer per day, plus travel and living expenses for each trainer.
