What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, whether someone other than the franchisee must personally guarantee the debt depends on the franchisee's business structure. If the franchisee is an individual, Hydrodog does not require anyone other than the franchisee to personally guarantee the note. However, if the franchisee is a business entity, such as a corporation or LLC, Hydrodog requires the owners of the entity to personally guarantee the debt.
Hydrodog may finance up to 50% of the initial franchise fee. The interest rate is 8% per annum, including finance charges, and the repayment period is 60 months. A down payment of $20,000 is required. In the event of default, the franchisee will be obligated to pay the entire amount due, Hydrodog's court costs and attorney fees, and the franchise will be terminated.
Additionally, the franchisee waives the right to a jury trial, homestead and other exemptions, and waives presentment, demand, protest, and notice of dishonor. Hydrodog does not intend to sell, assign, or factor the debt to a third party, and receives no consideration for the placement of financing.
