Must I purchase the Initial Tool Package before HydroDog will consider my business approved?

may change, alter or amend the functions, components, System Standards, Computer System, Purchase Order System, Technology Fund and any other aspect of the Business Management System from time-to-time.
- 5.8 Business Opening. You agree not to open your HydroDog Business until:
- (a) we have approved your HydroDog Business as developed in accordance with our specifications and standards;
- (b) training has been completed to our satisfaction;
- (c) the Franchise Fee has been paid (subject to state law or state imposed financial assurance requirements);
- (d) the Initial Tool Package has been purchased;
- (e) we have approved the Managers of your HydroDog Business, if any, and you have demonstrated to us that the pre-opening conditions of this Agreement have been fulfilled.
- (f) you have furnished us with copies of all insurance policies required by this Agreement, or such other evidence of insurance coverage and payment of premiums as we request or accept; and
- (g) you have provided us with copies of all required documents pertaining to your acquisition and delivery of the HydroDog Vehicle.
6. FEES.
- 6.1 Initial Franchise Fee. In consideration of the Franchise rights granted in this Agreement, you must pay us a non-refundable initial franchise fee of Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000) for a Territory with a population of up to one hundred fifty thousand (150,000) people (the "Initial Franchise Fee").

According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, purchasing the Initial Tool Package is a requirement before Hydrodog will approve your business. Specifically, you must not open your HydroDog Business until Hydrodog has approved your business, training has been completed, the franchise fee has been paid, the Initial Tool Package has been purchased, and Hydrodog has approved your managers.
This means that as a prospective franchisee, you must budget for and acquire the Initial Tool Package to meet Hydrodog's pre-opening requirements. This is a condition that must be fulfilled before you can commence operations. The requirement to purchase the Initial Tool Package ensures that franchisees have the necessary tools to meet Hydrodog's standards and specifications.
Furthermore, if you have less than five years' experience in grooming or are not a certified groomer, you must purchase the Initial Tool Package from Hydrodog. The Initial Tools Fee is due when you sign the Franchise Agreement, is nonrefundable, and is fully earned when paid. This policy ensures that franchisees meet a baseline level of preparedness before opening their Hydrodog business.
