What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees and their employees are prohibited from posting or blogging comments about the Hydrodog business or system, except on platforms established or authorized by Hydrodog. This restriction applies to various online platforms, including personal blogs, social networks like Facebook and Instagram, professional networks like LinkedIn, and live-blogging tools like X.
This policy ensures that Hydrodog maintains control over its brand image and messaging across all online channels. By centralizing communication, Hydrodog aims to provide consistent and accurate information to the public, preventing franchisees or employees from making unauthorized or potentially damaging statements about the business. Franchisees are required to regularly update branded social media pages, handles, and assets provided by Hydrodog, further reinforcing the company's control over its online presence.
Hydrodog exclusively retains the right to respond to reviews of Hydrodog businesses posted on platforms like Yelp and TripAdvisor. This allows Hydrodog to manage customer feedback and address any concerns in a uniform and professional manner. Franchisees must obtain prior written consent from Hydrodog before promoting their business or using any trademarks on social or networking websites. This requirement ensures that all marketing and promotional activities align with Hydrodog's overall brand strategy and standards.
For a prospective franchisee, this means they must be very careful about what they and their employees post online regarding Hydrodog. They should direct all online communication through official Hydrodog channels to avoid violating the franchise agreement. This policy highlights the importance of adhering to Hydrodog's guidelines for social media and online presence to protect the brand's reputation and maintain consistency in messaging.
