What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to HydroDog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, payment of the franchise fee is indeed a prerequisite for opening your HydroDog business. Specifically, the FDD states that you may not open your HydroDog Business until the Franchise Fee has been paid to HydroDog, subject to state law. This indicates that fulfilling the financial obligation of the franchise fee is a mandatory step in the opening process.

In addition to paying the franchise fee, there are several other conditions that must be met before you can open your HydroDog business. These include obtaining HydroDog's approval of your business's development, completing training to HydroDog's satisfaction, acquiring the HydroDog Vehicle, receiving the Initial Tools Package, securing HydroDog's approval of your managers (if you are a Business Entity), meeting all pre-opening conditions outlined in the Franchise Agreement, providing copies of all required insurance policies, and furnishing signed documents related to your HydroDog Vehicle acquisition.

Furthermore, you are required to open your HydroDog Business within 30 days after receiving your HydroDog Vehicle, unless unforeseen circumstances warrant an extension, which is subject to HydroDog's discretion. Failure to open within the stipulated time frame, without an approved extension, may result in the termination of the Franchise Agreement. Therefore, it is crucial to ensure that all conditions, including the payment of the franchise fee, are met promptly to avoid any delays or potential termination of the agreement.
