What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the terms 'Franchisor,' 'we,' 'us,' and 'our' refer to Legacy Franchisors, LLC, a Maine Limited Liability Company. This entity is the one granting the franchise to operate a HydroDog Business.
This definition is crucial for a prospective franchisee because it clarifies who they are contracting with. All obligations and rights of the franchisor outlined in the Franchise Agreement are those of Legacy Franchisors, LLC. Franchisees need to understand that Legacy Franchisors, LLC is the entity responsible for providing support, enforcing standards, and making decisions related to the HydroDog system.
Furthermore, the FDD states that Hydrodog reserves specific rights, such as the right to sell products or services anywhere, distribute branded products through any outlet, and own and operate HydroDog Businesses themselves or authorize others to do so. These rights are retained by Legacy Franchisors, LLC, and understanding this helps franchisees recognize the scope of the franchisor's control and potential impact on their business. The agreement also states that the term 'Reasonable Business Judgment' refers to decisions made by Hydrodog (Legacy Franchisors, LLC) with the intention of benefitting the system.
