What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Initial Tools Fee is due when you sign the Franchise Agreement, assuming it is applicable. This fee is nonrefundable and considered fully earned by Hydrodog upon payment. The Initial Tools Fee applies if a franchisee has less than five years of experience in grooming or is not a certified groomer.

In practical terms, this means that if a prospective Hydrodog franchisee lacks sufficient grooming experience or certification, they must purchase an Initial Tools Package from Hydrodog. This purchase is required at the time of signing the franchise agreement, representing an upfront investment in the necessary tools for operating the franchise.

It is important for potential Hydrodog franchisees to assess their grooming experience and certification status to determine if the Initial Tools Fee applies to them. If applicable, they should factor this cost into their initial investment calculations and be prepared to pay the fee upon signing the franchise agreement. Since the fee is nonrefundable, franchisees should carefully consider their decision before committing to the franchise.
