What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to HydroDog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, as a franchisee, you are significantly restricted in how you can use the HydroDog Marks. HydroDog retains strict control over its trademarks and service marks to maintain brand consistency and protect its image.
Specifically, you cannot use any HydroDog Mark with any prefix, suffix, or other modifications unless those modifications are logos that HydroDog has explicitly licensed to you. This restriction extends to using the Marks in corporate or legal business names, in conjunction with unauthorized services or products, as part of any domain name or electronic address, or in any manner not expressly authorized in writing by HydroDog.
These limitations are typical in franchising, as franchisors need to ensure uniform brand representation across all franchise locations. As a HydroDog franchisee, you must adhere to these guidelines to avoid breaching your franchise agreement and potentially infringing on HydroDog's trademark rights. You must also prominently display the Marks as prescribed by HydroDog and provide any notices of trademark and service mark registrations as specified by them.
