What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must purchase the point-of-sale (POS) system from suppliers designated by Hydrodog. The specific suppliers may change over time, as Hydrodog retains the right to designate them. This requirement also extends to certain other components of the computer system, including software and technology provided as part of the Technology Fee.
While Hydrodog mandates specific suppliers for the POS system and related components, franchisees have more flexibility in sourcing other parts of their computer systems. These other components can be purchased from suppliers of the franchisee's choice, provided they adhere strictly to Hydrodog's standards and specifications. This allows for some degree of customization while ensuring compatibility and consistency across the Hydrodog system.
Hydrodog also has the right to revoke approval of particular suppliers if they no longer meet the company's standards. If a supplier's approval is revoked, franchisees must immediately stop buying from them. Furthermore, if the revocation is due to the products failing to meet Hydrodog's standards, franchisees may be required to stop using any remaining inventory of those products. This ensures that all Hydrodog businesses maintain consistent quality and operational standards.
