What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees may incur costs related to software modifications. Hydrodog may require franchisees to license, modify, or obtain new software that Hydrodog or its affiliates license to them. In such cases, franchisees must pay Hydrodog, or its designee, the then-current fees for the software. These fees may include both up-front and ongoing charges.
This means that if Hydrodog decides to update or change the software used in the business, franchisees will be responsible for covering the costs associated with these changes. This could involve purchasing new software licenses, paying for the modifications to existing software, or incurring ongoing fees for the continued use of the software.
As a prospective franchisee, it's important to understand that these software modification costs can add to the overall investment and operating expenses of the Hydrodog franchise. Therefore, it would be prudent to inquire about the typical frequency and estimated costs of software modifications to better prepare for these potential expenses.
