What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor or their designee directs all programs financed by the Marketing Fund. This includes creative concepts, materials, endorsements, geographic placement, market placement, and media allocation.
This means Hydrodog has full control over how the marketing funds are spent. While a franchisee advisory council may be formed, it will act in an advisory capacity only and will not have decision-making authority. Hydrodog retains the right to establish, change, merge, or dissolve any advisory council at any time.
Hydrodog can use the Marketing Fund for various activities, such as developing advertising materials, servicing corporate accounts, engaging in research and development, administering regional advertising programs, purchasing e-commerce rights, supporting public relations, and maintaining websites. The Marketing Fund may also be used to cover reasonable salaries, administrative costs, travel expenses, and overhead incurred in administering the fund and its programs.
Hydrodog may spend more or less than the aggregate contributions to the Marketing Fund in any fiscal year and may borrow or invest any surplus. While Hydrodog aims to maximize recognition of the Hydrodog marks and patronage of Hydrodog businesses, there is no obligation to ensure that expenditures in any geographic area are proportionate to the contributions from Hydrodog businesses in that area, or that any Hydrodog business will benefit directly or in proportion to its contribution.
