What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, all advertising and promotional plans and materials, including those from a cooperative, must be submitted in writing for Hydrodog's approval at least 30 days before their intended use. This requirement applies unless the plans and materials were either prepared by Hydrodog or have been approved by them within the previous 12 months.
This means that Hydrodog franchisees need to proactively plan their advertising campaigns well in advance to allow for the 30-day review period. It also ensures that all advertising aligns with Hydrodog's brand standards and requirements. The written submission requirement provides a documented record of the proposed advertising, which can be useful for both the franchisee and Hydrodog in case of any disputes or misunderstandings.
It is important to note that Hydrodog retains the right to approve or disapprove any advertising or promotional materials, even if they are submitted by a cooperative. This gives Hydrodog control over the brand's image and messaging. Franchisees should factor in this approval process when developing their local advertising strategies and budgets. Franchisees should also maintain records of past approvals to streamline future submissions of similar materials.
