What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are strictly prohibited from disclosing confidential information. The FDD outlines several consequences for violating this confidentiality. Firstly, any unauthorized use of confidential information is considered an unfair method of competition. This means Hydrodog views such breaches as a serious threat to their business model and the success of other franchisees.
Specifically, the agreement states that franchisees cannot disclose, leak, divulge, disseminate, reveal, make available, replicate, duplicate, or otherwise communicate any confidential information to any other person or entity. This prohibition extends to using the information for any purpose outside of working directly with Hydrodog under the Franchise Agreement. Franchisees must also exercise the highest degree of care to protect the confidentiality of this information and avoid making unauthorized copies.
Furthermore, the disclosure of the Client Database, which includes names, addresses, and other client information, is explicitly prohibited. This database is considered Hydrodog's property and a trade secret. Breaching this specific confidentiality clause is grounds for immediate termination of the Franchise Agreement. This underscores the importance Hydrodog places on protecting client data and maintaining a competitive edge. Prospective franchisees should understand that maintaining confidentiality is not just a suggestion, but a strict contractual obligation with significant repercussions for non-compliance.
