What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a 15% discount on the initial franchise fee is available to U.S. veterans and their families under certain conditions. The standard initial franchise fee is $40,000 for a territory with a population of up to 150,000. The discount applies only to the initial franchise fee for the first Hydrodog franchise. It does not extend to additional territory fees, subsequent franchise purchases, or any other fees outlined in the Franchise Agreement.

To qualify for the discount, the prospective franchisee must meet one of several criteria related to U.S. military service. The discount is applicable if the franchisee is a veteran, the franchisee's spouse is a veteran or on active duty, the franchisee's biological mother or father is a veteran or on active duty, the spouse's biological mother or father is a veteran or on active duty, or the franchisee's child is a veteran or on active duty. Additionally, the discount applies if veterans own at least 51% of the franchised business through shares, membership, or partnership.

A "Veteran" is defined as someone honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, or SpaceForce. Proof of veteran or military status is required, typically through a DD214 form or military orders. A child is defined as a biological child or a legally adopted child. This discount provides a substantial benefit to veterans and their families, reducing the initial investment required to start a Hydrodog franchise.
