What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is solely responsible for the costs associated with updating or upgrading the Computer System. Hydrodog is under no obligation to provide ongoing maintenance, repairs, upgrades, or updates to the Computer System, nor are they obligated to reimburse the franchisee for any costs related to the Computer System. The franchisee must maintain the Computer System and keep it in good repair, and they must update or upgrade the system, including point-of-sale components and software, as required by Hydrodog at any time during the franchise term.
The estimated cost for optional or required maintenance, updating, upgrading, or support contracts is between $100 and $1,000 per year. However, Hydrodog does not provide a contractual limit on the frequency or cost of the franchisee's obligation to upgrade or update the Computer System. This means that while there's an estimated annual cost, the actual expenses could exceed this range depending on the updates or upgrades Hydrodog requires.
This arrangement places the financial burden of maintaining and updating the Computer System entirely on the Hydrodog franchisee. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider these potential costs and ensure they have sufficient capital to cover these expenses throughout the term of the franchise agreement. It is also important to note that Hydrodog has the right to independently access all information collected, compiled, stored, or generated by the franchisee's Computer System at any time without prior notification, and the franchisee must provide password access to enable Hydrodog to obtain such data.
