What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the advisory council, if established, serves solely in an advisory capacity and does not possess any decision-making authority. The franchisor retains the right to establish, modify, merge, or dissolve the advisory council at any time, and also has the discretion to remove council members. The advisory council would be governed by bylaws.
This means that while Hydrodog franchisees may have the opportunity to provide input and suggestions through the advisory council, the franchisor is not bound to act on those recommendations. The ultimate decision-making power remains with Hydrodog.
For a prospective franchisee, this highlights the importance of understanding the limitations of the advisory council. While participation may offer a voice within the franchise system, it does not guarantee influence over Hydrodog's policies or operational decisions. Franchisees should consider this when evaluating the level of support and autonomy they desire within a franchise system.
