Does Healthsource Chiropractic supervise or control a franchisee's treatment protocols?

According to Healthsource Chiropractic's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees who enter into a Management Agreement with a Professional Corporation (PC) retain control over treatment protocols. The PC, which must be approved by Healthsource Chiropractic, employs and controls the chiropractors, physical therapists, and other personnel who provide the actual chiropractic and related services. The franchisee cannot provide any actual chiropractic care or professional services requiring licensing or certification.

Specifically, the franchisee cannot supervise, direct, control, or try to influence the exercise of professional and/or medical judgment, treatment protocols, employee decisions, clinical advice, clinical training, clinical chiropractic care, or relationships with patients, by the PC or any of its employees or agents. This ensures that licensed healthcare professionals maintain autonomy in their clinical decision-making.

Healthsource Chiropractic may offer a general form of Management Agreement as a starting point, but the final agreement must be approved by them and comply with all applicable state and local laws. While Healthsource Chiropractic maintains standards for the franchise as outlined in the Operations Manual, the procedures to implement those standards are the responsibility of the franchisee. This arrangement aims to balance brand consistency with the professional autonomy of healthcare providers operating within the Healthsource Chiropractic system.
