What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Healthsource Chiropractic's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the malpractice policy for each doctor providing services at the clinic must be endorsed to include Management Company, HealthSource, and their respective owners, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates as additional insureds, to the fullest extent possible.
This requirement means that Healthsource Chiropractic and its related entities seek to be protected under the malpractice insurance policies of the doctors operating within the franchised clinic. This is a risk-management strategy to shield the franchisor from potential liability arising from the medical services provided at the clinic.
For a prospective franchisee, this indicates that the cost of malpractice insurance for employed doctors may be affected by the additional insured requirement. Franchisees should consult with their insurance providers to understand the implications and costs associated with adding these entities to their malpractice policies. Additionally, franchisees should ensure that their employed doctors' malpractice policies provide sufficient coverage to meet the franchisor's requirements and adequately protect the franchisee's business interests.
