What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Healthsource Chiropractic's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if the company establishes an advertising cooperative that includes a franchisee's clinic, any contributions made by the franchisee to the cooperative will be credited towards their local marketing requirements. This means that the money a franchisee spends on the advertising cooperative counts toward any obligations they have to spend money on local advertising for their Healthsource Chiropractic franchise.
This arrangement benefits franchisees by allowing them to satisfy their local marketing requirements through a potentially more efficient and coordinated advertising effort managed by the cooperative. It also ensures that Healthsource Chiropractic clinics owned by the company or its affiliates have the same voting power as independently owned franchises within the cooperative, preventing the franchisor from dominating the cooperative's decisions.
Prospective franchisees should inquire about the specific requirements for local marketing, how the advertising cooperative is managed, and what control franchisees have over the cooperative's advertising strategies. Understanding these details will help franchisees assess the value and effectiveness of the advertising cooperative in supporting their local marketing efforts.
