What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Hck Hot Chicken Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor can impose conditions or limitations on additional menu items a franchisee wants to offer. Specifically, a franchisee can request approval for additional menu items, and upon receiving this request, Hck Hot Chicken has the sole discretion to evaluate the suggested items and their suppliers. If Hck Hot Chicken grants written approval, the franchisee can offer these additional menu items, but this is "subject to any conditions and/or limitations imposed by Franchisor."
This means that while franchisees have the opportunity to suggest new menu items, Hck Hot Chicken retains control over the menu and suppliers. The approval to offer these items is not guaranteed and can come with specific requirements. This allows Hck Hot Chicken to maintain brand consistency and quality control across all franchise locations, which is a common practice in franchising.
For a prospective Hck Hot Chicken franchisee, this implies that they should be prepared to adhere to the franchisor's decisions regarding menu offerings. While they can suggest new items, the final decision rests with Hck Hot Chicken, and any approval may be conditional. Franchisees should carefully consider this aspect and discuss any potential menu innovations with the franchisor during their due diligence process.
