What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hck Hot Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, area developers do not have a right to renew their Area Development Agreement. However, Hck Hot Chicken may offer an area developer the opportunity to develop additional restaurants if they determine further development in the area is desirable, the developer is in good standing, and the developer is not in default under the Area Development Agreement.
To extend the term of the agreement, Hck Hot Chicken has the sole discretion to amend the current Area Development Agreement or require the developer to sign a new agreement. This new agreement would be on Hck Hot Chicken's then-current form, which may include additional development obligations and materially different terms and conditions from the original agreement.
In order to be eligible for this opportunity, the area developer and their affiliates must not be in default on any existing agreements with Hck Hot Chicken. They must also demonstrate the financial ability to perform additional development and have performed their current development obligations. Furthermore, they must meet the then-current area developer qualifications and sign a general release.
