What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hck Hot Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor's acceptance of a franchisee's Operating Principal does not constitute an endorsement of that individual. The FDD explicitly states that Hck Hot Chicken's approval is not a guarantee of the individual's performance and does not prevent Hck Hot Chicken from later disapproving or challenging the Operating Principal's qualifications or performance. This means that while Hck Hot Chicken must approve the Operating Principal, this approval is not a long-term guarantee of their suitability.
This policy protects Hck Hot Chicken from liability related to the Operating Principal's actions or inactions. It also allows Hck Hot Chicken to maintain brand standards by retaining the right to challenge the Operating Principal's performance even after initial acceptance. The franchisee remains responsible for the Operating Principal's performance and compliance with Hck Hot Chicken's standards.
For a prospective Hck Hot Chicken franchisee, this means that finding and maintaining a qualified Operating Principal is entirely their responsibility. The franchisee must ensure the Operating Principal meets Hck Hot Chicken's criteria and performs adequately. The franchisee should not rely on Hck Hot Chicken's initial acceptance as a guarantee of the Operating Principal's long-term suitability or performance.
