How does a supplier become an Approved Supplier for Hawthorn Suites By Wyndham?

Hawthorn_Suites_By_Wyndham Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Suppliers not on the Approved Supplier list that are interested in doing business with us or the Lodging Affiliates must apply by registering online at our Supplier Registration site http://wyndham.supplierone.co. Interested suppliers are evaluated and potentially approved according to an approval process established by WSSI. Currently, WSSI does the evaluations and approvals. The specific criteria and processes utilized by WSSI in the approval process are not disclosed to franchisees. WSSI will review a supplier that has registered with the Supplier Registration site on an as-needed basis. Currently, there is no fee for WSSI to review supplier applications.

WSSI may not review all suppliers. For those that it does review, it will notify the supplier of approval within approximately one year after the supplier provides WSSI all information it requests about the supplier. Only suppliers chosen by WSSI to become an Approved Supplier will be notified by WSSI of their acceptance. WSSI may revoke a supplier's "Approved" status if the supplier's agreement with us, WSSI, or an affiliate expires and is not renewed, or if the supplier is in default under their agreement with us, WSSI, or an affiliate. We will notify our franchisees if this occurs. Revocation does not mean that you can no longer purchase from this supplier; it simply means that the supplier no longer participates in WSSI's program to offer discounts or other benefits to our franchisees.

Approved Suppliers generally pay WSSI a commission based upon the volume of sales to franchisees. Commissions typically are a percentage of net or gross sales to franchisees, and usually range from 0% to 5% of net or gross sales to franchisees, but can sometimes be as high as 10%. WSSI may enter into other commission arrangements with Approved Suppliers from time to time, such as a fixed fee per purchase order, on the basis of arms' length negotiations.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Hawthorn Suites By Wyndham's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, suppliers interested in becoming an Approved Supplier must register online at http://wyndham.supplierone.co. WSSI, an affiliate, evaluates and potentially approves suppliers based on an established approval process. The specific criteria and processes WSSI uses for approval are not disclosed to franchisees. WSSI reviews registered suppliers on an as-needed basis, and there is currently no fee for WSSI to review supplier applications.

It's important to note that WSSI may not review all suppliers. For those they do review, WSSI will notify the supplier of approval approximately one year after the supplier provides all requested information. Only suppliers chosen by WSSI will be notified of their acceptance as an Approved Supplier.

WSSI may revoke a supplier's "Approved" status if their agreement with Hawthorn Suites By Wyndham, WSSI, or an affiliate expires and is not renewed, or if the supplier defaults on their agreement. If this happens, Hawthorn Suites By Wyndham will notify franchisees. Revocation doesn't prevent franchisees from purchasing from the supplier, but the supplier will no longer participate in WSSI's program offering discounts or other benefits. Approved Suppliers generally pay WSSI a commission based on sales volume to franchisees, typically ranging from 0% to 5% of net or gross sales, but can sometimes be as high as 10%. WSSI may also enter into other commission arrangements, such as a fixed fee per purchase order.

For a Hawthorn Suites By Wyndham franchisee, this means that while you may be required to purchase certain items from Approved Suppliers, the process for a supplier to become approved is managed by WSSI, and the specific criteria are not disclosed to franchisees. Franchisees benefit from the negotiated purchasing terms, including price and volume discounts, that Hawthorn Suites By Wyndham and WSSI negotiate with Approved Suppliers. However, franchisees should be aware that Approved Suppliers pay commissions to WSSI, which could influence the selection of Approved Suppliers.
