What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Hawaiian Bros Island Grill Franchise Disclosure Document, several individuals associated with the franchisee are required to attend the training program before the restaurant can open. Specifically, the Designated Principal, any other Controlling Principal that Hawaiian Bros Island Grill requires, the General Manager, and the franchisee's Executive Management must attend the training program outlined in Section 6(a)(5).
Furthermore, the General Manager and at least one other member of the franchisee's Executive Management team must successfully complete the training program, including all required training hours, with a passing grade. This requirement must be met before the Hawaiian Bros Island Grill restaurant is permitted to open for business.
This stipulation ensures that key personnel are adequately trained in the brand's operational standards and procedures. The franchisee is responsible for covering all costs associated with the training, including lodging, meals, transportation, wages, and benefits for the trainees. Failing to ensure that these individuals attend and pass the training could delay the restaurant's opening, impacting revenue and potentially leading to a default under the franchise agreement.
