What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Hawaiian Bros Island Grill Franchise Disclosure Document, for the second New Restaurant Opening (NRO), the franchisee must have a Designated Principal, an HB Certified General Manager, an Assistant General Manager, and an Hourly Operations Manager to receive the two weeks of NRO assistance from Hawaiian Bros Island Grill. In addition, the franchisee will need to reimburse Hawaiian Bros Island Grill for food, travel, car rental, and lodging costs, which are estimated to be between $55,000 and $65,000, excluding wages. Additional franchisee hourly trainers will attend in preparation for self-service.
Hawaiian Bros Island Grill provides up to 12 hourly trainers, including team leads and one Senior Manager of Training, for the second NRO. The NRO assistance includes consulting on building blueprints, providing ordering assistance with vendor partners, technology installation consultation and oversight, and onsite support during scheduled training days and opening day.
If the franchisee does not meet the requirements, Hawaiian Bros Island Grill may require the franchisee to use their pre-opening team to assist with the NRO, though they are not required to do so. If this occurs, the franchisee will be required to reimburse Hawaiian Bros Island Grill for the training team's wages, per diem allowance for meal and travel incidentals, travel, car rental, and lodging expenses. All team members supplied by the franchisee must be certified through training utilizing Hawaiian Bros Island Grill certification processes as outlined in their Operations Manual.
