What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hardees's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) training program includes multiple components with varying durations. One part of the RGM training is 'Chapter' training, which is estimated to take about 24.42 days, or 195.32 hours, encompassing both classroom and on-the-job training. Another part of the RGM training is 'MIT' training, which is estimated to take about 12.93 days, or 103.48 hours. Finally, there is additional crew training for the RGM, which is estimated to take 4.87 days, or 38.97 hours. These times include both classroom and on-the-job training at a designated training facility.
Prospective Hardees franchisees should note that these are estimated times. The actual time spent in training may vary depending on the trainee's prior experience and the specific requirements of the Hardees system. It is important for franchisees to ensure that they and their managers complete the training programs to Hardees' standards, as this is crucial for the successful operation of the franchise.
Hardees also provides access to Star University (StarU), an online Learning Management System, for ongoing training and development. While the initial FMTP training is provided at no additional cost for the franchisee, Operating Principal, General Manager, and six shift leaders within two years of signing the Franchise Agreement, additional training or access to StarU may incur fees. Currently, the fee associated with the use of Star University is $14 per fiscal period (as defined by Hardees, currently a 4-week accounting period), but Hardees reserves the right to increase this fee in the future. Franchisees are responsible for all travel, living, and other expenses incurred while attending training programs.
