What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hardees' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Hardees does reserve the right to charge tuition fees for additional training programs. Specifically, Hardees may offer training beyond the initial Franchise Management Training Program (FMTP) and can require franchisees to pay a tuition fee for these programs.
This policy has a direct financial implication for franchisees. In addition to the tuition fee, franchisees are responsible for covering all travel, living, and other expenses incurred by themselves and their employees while attending these additional training programs. This could potentially add a significant cost to the operation of the franchise, especially if multiple employees are required to attend the training.
It is important for prospective Hardees franchisees to factor in these potential additional training costs when evaluating the overall investment and operational expenses. Franchisees should inquire about the frequency, nature, and estimated costs of these additional training programs to better understand the financial commitment involved. This is a fairly standard practice in the franchise industry, as franchisors often update training to reflect changes in systems, technology, or best practices.
