What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hardees's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Hardees provides its Franchise Management Training Program (FMTP) to a specific group of individuals before the restaurant opens. This includes the franchisee, or their Operating Principal if the franchisee won't be running the day-to-day operations. In addition to the franchisee or Operating Principal, the General Manager and up to six other employees designated as Shift Leaders are also included in the FMTP at no additional cost.
This training is provided that it occurs within two years of signing the Franchise Agreement. Hardees retains the right to modify or waive training requirements based on an individual's or the franchisee's experience. If the franchisee wishes to send additional individuals beyond those initially covered, they will be charged a Training Fee as detailed in Item 5 of the FDD.
In total, Hardees provides the FMTP to a maximum of 8 individuals without additional cost, comprising the franchisee or Operating Principal, the General Manager, and six Shift Leaders. The franchisee is responsible for all travel, living, and other expenses incurred by themselves and their employees while attending the training programs. Hardees also reserves the right to dismiss anyone from the FMTP who they believe will not perform acceptably, requiring the franchisee to provide a qualified replacement within one month.
