There currently are no purchasing or distribution cooperatives. Golden Krust currently has the right at some point in the future to negotiate purchase arrangements with suppliers for the benefit of franchisees, and/or to derive revenue or other material consideration as a result of required purchases or leases, but intends to do so only if there will be a net cost savings to franchisees from the particular arrangement

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, there are currently no purchasing or distribution cooperatives available for franchisees. However, Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant retains the right to negotiate purchase arrangements with suppliers in the future for the benefit of franchisees, or to potentially receive revenue or other material consideration from required purchases or leases. The FDD states that Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant intends to do so only if it results in net cost savings for franchisees.
This means that franchisees must currently source their supplies independently, adhering to the approved supplier list and system standards set by Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant. While there is no immediate benefit of a cooperative to leverage group buying power, the possibility remains that Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant may introduce such arrangements if they can demonstrably lower costs for franchisees.
Prospective franchisees should inquire about the criteria Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant will use to evaluate potential cost savings and how franchisees will be involved in the decision-making process should purchasing cooperatives be established in the future. Understanding the conditions under which Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant would implement these arrangements can help franchisees anticipate potential changes in their supply chain and purchasing procedures.
