What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant franchisee wishes to use a supplier not already approved by Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant, the proposed supplier must execute a confidentiality agreement that is acceptable to Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant before receiving the brand's standards and specifications. This ensures that Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant's proprietary information is protected.
This process is part of Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant's supplier review process. The franchisee must submit a written request for approval, including sufficient information, specifications, and samples for Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant to determine if the product complies with the System Standards and/or the supplier meets their criteria. Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant has no obligation to review or approve a greater number of suppliers for an item than they deem reasonable.
Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant has the right to inspect the proposed supplier's facilities and require product samples for testing, with the franchisee bearing the reasonable costs of evaluation, regardless of approval. Until written approval is received, the franchisee cannot purchase, sell, or offer any products from the proposed supplier. Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant also retains the right to re-inspect and revoke approval if the supplier fails to meet current criteria, requiring the franchisee to cease purchasing from the disapproved supplier and dispose of remaining inventory as directed.
