What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant franchisees are responsible for building or renovating their restaurant according to pre-approved plans and specifications. Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant will provide sample drawings and specifications, including mandatory and suggested requirements for dimensions, design, image, interior sample drawings, décor, fixtures, equipment, signs, furnishings, and color scheme at no cost to the franchisee.
Before construction begins, franchisees must submit their construction plans and specifications to Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant for approval. During construction, franchisees must also submit any revised or as-built plans and specifications if requested by Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant.
In practical terms, this means a prospective Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant franchisee needs to factor in the time and cost of developing plans that meet the franchisor's standards. They cannot simply build as they see fit but must adhere to the approved design. This ensures brand consistency across all Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant locations, but it also means franchisees have less flexibility in customizing their restaurant's design.
