What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the restaurant has the right to require that all food and beverage items, ingredients, supplies, equipment, furnishings, smallwares, merchandise, promotional items, information technology services, credit card processing services, and other products and services that you purchase for operation of or sale in the Restaurant meet certain conditions. These conditions include meeting specifications established by Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant, being purchased only from suppliers expressly approved by the restaurant, or being purchased only from a manufacturer, wholesaler, distributor, dealer, retailer, or other vendor or source that Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant designates as the source for particular products or services.
This means that as a franchisee, you must adhere to Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant's sourcing requirements for all products and services used in the operation of your restaurant. You are obligated to purchase items from suppliers that meet the brand's specifications, have been expressly approved by them, or are designated by them as the exclusive source. This ensures uniformity and quality across all Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant locations.
The restaurant may establish specifications, require approval of suppliers, or name designated suppliers for particular items, and they will provide these requirements to you in writing. If Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant or an affiliate is named as the designated supplier for an item, you are required to purchase all your requirements of that item from them. This gives Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant significant control over the supply chain and product quality, but it also limits the franchisee's autonomy in choosing suppliers.
If you would like to use or offer products, services, supplies, materials, and/or equipment that Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant has not approved, you must submit a written request for approval and refrain from offering these items until you have received written approval. Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant has the right to require you to use only certain brands and to prohibit you from using other brands, and they may modify the list of approved brands. This ensures that all products and services offered at Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant locations meet the brand's standards and maintain uniformity across the franchise system.
