What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Golden Corral's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Tier 1 and Tier 2 training programs, which are each four weeks long, are mandatory and held at Golden Corral Certified Training Restaurants located throughout the country. These programs are part of the initial training for managers.
In addition to Tier 1 and Tier 2 training, Golden Corral provides additional training programs. Approximately 8 to 16 hourly-wage employees, such as meat cutters, bakers, cooks, and servers, must participate in an on-the-job training program lasting approximately 20 to 60 hours at an operating restaurant. Furthermore, Golden Corral may require the general manager to attend a General Manager class at the Golden Corral Training Center.
Prospective franchisees should consider the costs associated with these training programs, including the $205 fee for training materials and the expenses incurred by attendees for transportation, lodging, meals, and wages. Franchisees must also ensure their managers attend any refresher courses, additional training programs, and seminars that Golden Corral may designate from time to time.
