What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Golden Corral's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to use a point-of-sale (POS) software system designated by Golden Corral. As of the FDD date, the designated POS software system is Qu, Inc., or any other system provider that Golden Corral may select in the future. Franchisees must also use a point-of-sale hardware equipment supplier, which is currently Qu, Inc., or another supplier selected by Golden Corral.

This requirement means that a new Golden Corral franchisee does not have the freedom to choose their own POS system. Instead, they must use the system that Golden Corral has designated. This ensures uniformity across all Golden Corral locations, which can help with data collection, reporting, and overall system management. However, it also means that franchisees are dependent on Golden Corral's choice and any potential issues or costs associated with that system.

It is important to note that Golden Corral retains the right to change the designated POS system provider. If Golden Corral decides to switch to a new system, franchisees will be required to adopt the new system, which could involve additional costs for new hardware, software, and training. Therefore, prospective franchisees should inquire about the typical lifespan of a POS system within the Golden Corral franchise and the potential costs associated with system upgrades or changes.

In addition to the POS system, Golden Corral also designates a back-of-house (BOH) management software solution, currently Decision Logic, and a cybersecure network/internet infrastructure solution, currently AT&T. These requirements further emphasize the importance of adhering to Golden Corral's technology standards and approved suppliers to maintain consistency and security across the franchise system.
