According to Golden Corral's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Tier 1 in-store training is a mandatory program that lasts for four weeks. This training takes place at Golden Corral Certified Training Restaurants located throughout the country. The Manager in Training program runs continuously.
Prospective franchisees should note that Tier 1 is only one component of the overall training program. Golden Corral also requires a Tier 2 training program, which also lasts four weeks. Both Tier 1 and Tier 2 are mandatory. This means that managers will spend a total of eight weeks in these initial training programs before opening a Golden Corral restaurant.
In addition to the mandatory Tier 1 and Tier 2 training, Golden Corral may require managers to attend a one-week classroom training held in Raleigh, North Carolina. Furthermore, new entities may need to complete a six-week Practice Management component.
