What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Gokhale Method Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement can only be modified under specific conditions. Amendments can be made if the agreement allows Gokhale Method to unilaterally change something or if both parties mutually agree to the change in writing. Additionally, Gokhale Method retains the right to change the System from time to time.
This means that a prospective franchisee should carefully review the franchise agreement to understand which aspects Gokhale Method can alter without their consent. Any desired changes outside of those provisions would require a written agreement signed by both the franchisee and Gokhale Method.
It is fairly standard in franchising for the franchisor to retain some ability to modify the operating system, manuals, and standards to adapt to changing market conditions or improve the brand. However, franchisees should pay close attention to the scope of these unilateral modification rights and ensure that any significant changes impacting their business operations are subject to mutual agreement.
