What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Gokhale Method's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must purchase certain proprietary items directly from Gokhale Method. These items include the Gokhale® Roller, Gokhale Pain-Free™ Chair, Stretchsit® Cushions, Gokhale® Wedges, Gokhale® Head Cushions, copies of 8 Steps to a Pain-Free Back, and required shirts or uniforms. Additionally, franchisees must obtain an application proprietary to GMI for an iPhone at no charge.
Gokhale Method does not authorize other sources to supply these proprietary items, nor does it permit franchisees to purchase them elsewhere. Specifically, Gokhale Method does not supply the specifications of these proprietary items to third parties. This restriction ensures that the quality and standards of these items are maintained, as they are unique to the Gokhale Method program.
For other required equipment and supplies, franchisees are permitted to purchase from any source, provided that the items meet Gokhale Method's specifications. This allows franchisees some flexibility in sourcing non-proprietary items while adhering to the brand's standards. This approach is common in franchising, where franchisors often mandate specific suppliers for certain critical items to maintain quality control, while allowing franchisees to source other supplies from approved vendors or based on provided specifications.
