What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to the 2024 Gokhale Method Franchise Disclosure Document, the requirements for advertising and promotion are detailed in multiple locations. Section 12 of Item 22 outlines the franchisee's responsibilities for local marketing, advertising, and promotion expenditures, stating that franchisees must adhere to guidelines in the Teacher's Manual and Policy Statements. Franchisees are responsible for the costs of these activities and for paying Gokhale Method for any advertising materials they create at the franchisee's request. All advertising materials must be approved by Gokhale Method and conform to their specified standards.

Further requirements are found in section 8.9 of Item 22, which states that franchisees must advertise and promote the franchised business and the Gokhale System as required in the Franchise Agreement, the Teacher's Manual, and in Policy Statements, all at the franchisee's expense. Additionally, all promotional materials must bear the Gokhale Method's marks in the prescribed form, color, location, and manner.

In summary, a Gokhale Method franchisee needs to consult the Franchise Agreement itself, the Teacher's Manual, and any Policy Statements issued by Gokhale Method to fully understand their obligations and the restrictions regarding advertising and promotion. They must also be prepared to bear the costs of local advertising and promotional activities, and any materials created by Gokhale Method at their request.
