What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Gokhale Method Franchise Disclosure Document, Gokhale Method does not provide any particular benefits to franchisees who purchase from particular suppliers. The FDD specifies that franchisees must purchase certain proprietary items, such as the Gokhale® Roller, Gokhale Pain-Free™ Chair, Stretchsit® Cushions, Gokhale® Wedges, Gokhale® Head Cushions, copies of 8 Steps to a Pain-Free Back, and possibly shirts or uniforms, directly from Gokhale Method or its affiliate GME.
For other required equipment and supplies, franchisees can generally choose their suppliers, provided the items meet Gokhale Method's specifications. These items include an Apple MacBook with specific technical requirements, an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, a digital projector, a projector screen, exercise strap, yoga mat, pillows, and folding chairs. While Gokhale Method mandates the purchase of certain items from specific sources to maintain quality control, it does not offer additional benefits or incentives for franchisees who choose particular suppliers for the items they are allowed to source independently.
This policy is fairly standard in franchising, where franchisors often require specific suppliers for certain critical items to ensure brand consistency and quality. However, the Gokhale Method's approach allows franchisees some flexibility in sourcing other supplies, potentially enabling them to find cost-effective options that still meet the brand's standards. Franchisees should carefully review the required specifications and approved supplier list (if any) to make informed purchasing decisions.
