What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Gokhale Method's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are explicitly prohibited from using any equipment, supplies, or other tangible or intangible items as part of the Gokhale System or Gokhale Method unless they have received prior written approval from Gokhale Method. This requirement is in place to ensure that all aspects of the Gokhale System maintain consistent standards and quality.
This restriction has significant implications for prospective franchisees. It means that franchisees cannot introduce or experiment with alternative equipment or supplies without first obtaining permission from Gokhale Method. This ensures uniformity across all Gokhale Method franchises and protects the brand's reputation. Franchisees must adhere to the approved list of equipment and supplies, purchasing them from designated suppliers as outlined in the Teacher Manual, Policy Statements, or other written communications from Gokhale Method.
Furthermore, franchisees must only teach the Gokhale System in approved formats and refrain from deviating from the standards and specifications set by Gokhale Method without prior written consent. This includes any related classes, services, and products. Gokhale Method retains the right to disapprove any Gokhale Method branded class, service, product, merchandise, and equipment in writing at any time, and franchisees must discontinue selling or offering such items if disapproved.
Overall, these stipulations underscore the importance of adhering to Gokhale Method's established protocols and standards. While this may limit a franchisee's autonomy in choosing equipment and teaching methods, it is intended to maintain the integrity and consistency of the Gokhale System across all franchised locations.
