What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to the 2024 Gokhale Method Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are explicitly prohibited from interfering with Gokhale Method's relationships with students they teach. While franchisees have the right to recruit and teach students, Gokhale Method retains exclusive rights to communicate with, market to, and maintain relationships with those students.

This restriction means a Gokhale Method franchisee must be careful not to undermine or disrupt the franchisor's communication and marketing efforts directed at their students. The franchisee cannot contest Gokhale Method's right to communicate with students they teach. This could include, for example, not disparaging Gokhale Method programs or attempting to convert students to a different system without Gokhale Method's consent.

This type of clause is not uncommon in franchising, as franchisors often want to maintain brand consistency and control over customer relationships. It ensures that Gokhale Method can directly promote new products, services, or initiatives to students, regardless of which franchisee initially taught them. It also protects Gokhale Method's ability to gather feedback and maintain quality standards across the entire system.

For a prospective franchisee, this means understanding that building student loyalty is important, but it must be done in a way that complements, rather than competes with, Gokhale Method's overall strategy. Franchisees should focus on providing excellent instruction and service within the framework established by Gokhale Method, while respecting the franchisor's right to manage the broader student relationships.
