What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Gokhale Method Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are explicitly prohibited from attempting to register or obtain any interest in an Internet domain name or URL that contains any of the Gokhale Method's marks. This restriction extends to any portion of the marks or any other word, name, symbol, or device that could likely cause confusion with the Gokhale Method's marks.
This restriction is in place to protect the Gokhale Method's brand identity and prevent customer confusion. By maintaining control over its marks and online presence, Gokhale Method ensures consistent branding and quality across all its franchises. This also prevents third parties from using similar domain names to misrepresent themselves as affiliated with Gokhale Method.
As a prospective franchisee, it is important to understand that you must adhere to these brand guidelines and restrictions. Failure to comply could result in a breach of the franchise agreement and potential legal consequences. Franchisees should direct any leads about potential misuse of the Gokhale Method marks to the franchisor.
This type of clause is standard in franchise agreements. Franchisors need to protect their trademarks and brand identity, and this is one way they do so. Franchisees benefit from a strong, protected brand, but they must also respect the franchisor's control over it.
