What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Gokhale Method's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Article 15 of the franchise agreement outlines the conditions under which the agreement can be terminated. Additionally, section 7.1 discusses that if a franchisee does not complete all training and has not qualified to teach within six months of attending the Teacher Training Immersion Week, Gokhale Method may terminate the agreement upon 30 days' notice if the franchisee fails to correct the issue. Section 8.1 also states that Gokhale Method has the right to suspend a franchisee's right to teach, or terminate the agreement, if the franchisee fails to maintain their Operating Standards. Furthermore, section 7.2 states that if a franchisee's right to teach has been suspended, and they nonetheless offer to teach, Gokhale Method may terminate the agreement immediately upon notice.
These termination clauses are important for prospective franchisees to understand as they highlight the specific performance standards and training requirements that must be met to maintain the franchise agreement. Failure to adhere to these standards, such as completing training within the specified timeframe or maintaining operating standards, could lead to termination.
It is also important to note that the agreement can be terminated if a franchisee continues to teach after their right to teach has been suspended. This underscores the importance of complying with any suspensions and rectifying any issues that led to the suspension in the first place. Prospective franchisees should carefully review Article 15 and the other sections mentioned to fully understand their obligations and the potential consequences of non-compliance.
