What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Focus Cfo's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a full refund of the franchise fee is contingent upon the outcome of a background check. Specifically, if Focus Cfo receives an unsatisfactory background check result after the Franchise Agreement has been executed by the franchisee, the agreement will be terminated immediately, and the franchisee will receive a full refund of the franchise fee. The background check generally takes seven days to process but may take longer. Focus CFO initiates the background check when providing the Franchise Disclosure Document to the franchisee. If the unsatisfactory background check is received before the Franchise Agreement is executed, the offer to execute the agreement becomes null and void.
This condition protects both Focus Cfo and the prospective franchisee. Focus Cfo ensures that its franchisees meet certain standards before being allowed to represent the brand. The franchisee is protected by receiving a refund if they do not meet those standards, preventing them from investing in a franchise they cannot operate.
It is important to note that this is the only specific condition outlined in this section of the FDD under which a full refund of the franchise fee is guaranteed. Other circumstances, such as termination by the franchisee or by Focus Cfo for cause or failure to perform, do not result in a refund of the franchise fee.
